Method Statement

Before travelling to the venue, CrazyNightclubs checks the booking information and confirms the equipment, location and planned setup.

• Confirm the booking address, date and agreed hire times.
• Confirm whether the setup is indoors or outdoors.
• Check that suitable access and sufficient space are available.
• Review the weather forecast for outdoor bookings.
• Confirm that the customer has received the Terms & Conditions, Risk Assessment and Customer Safety Rules.
• Check that the required equipment is available and suitable for use.

On arrival, the vehicle is positioned safely and equipment is moved to the setup location using the agreed access route.

• Park without blocking emergency access, roads or neighbouring properties.
• Identify steps, slopes, narrow access points and other obstacles.
• Keep members of the public and customers away from the unloading area.
• Use safe manual-handling techniques when unloading equipment.
• Use assistance for heavy or awkward equipment where required.

The proposed installation area is inspected before any inflatable equipment is unpacked or inflated.

• Check that the area is level, stable and large enough for the equipment.
• Remove or avoid sharp objects, stones, debris and other hazards.
• Check for trees, fences, walls, overhead cables and nearby structures.
• Confirm sufficient clearance around the inflatable, blower and entrances.
• Check for underground services before using ground stakes where relevant.
• Identify a suitable electrical supply and safe cable route.
• Do not proceed where the site cannot be made reasonably safe.

Equipment is placed in the agreed location before inflation and is not dragged across unsuitable surfaces.

• Use a suitable groundsheet where required.
• Position the inflatable according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Keep the blower location clear and protected from interference.
• Keep entrances and emergency exit routes unobstructed.
• Prevent customers from entering the setup area during installation.

The inflatable must not be made available for use until all required anchor points have been securely attached.

• Use every required anchor point in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Use suitable ground stakes on appropriate outdoor surfaces.
• Use suitable ballast or approved fixing methods where stakes cannot be used.
• Check that ropes and fixings do not create avoidable trip hazards.
• Never attach the inflatable to vehicles, temporary furniture or unsuitable structures.
• Do not permit the customer to remove, loosen or reposition any anchoring system.

Electrical equipment is installed carefully and protected against damage, moisture and unauthorised interference.

• Visually inspect plugs, cables, blowers and extension leads before use.
• Use suitable electrical equipment for the environment.
• Use RCD protection where appropriate.
• Keep plugs and electrical connections dry and raised where necessary.
• Route cables away from entrances, walkways and vehicle routes.
• Use suitable cable covers where a trip risk cannot be avoided.
• Do not overload sockets or extension leads.

The equipment is inflated while the installation area remains clear of customers and other unauthorised persons.

• Connect the inflation tube securely to the correct blower.
• Check unused inflation tubes and deflation points are secured.
• Inflate the structure fully before completing the final inspection.
• Check for cuts, holes, weak seams, loose material or unusual movement.
• Confirm that the structure is stable and maintaining suitable pressure.
• Check that the blower is operating normally and receiving unrestricted airflow.

Included accessories are positioned safely and checked before the customer is permitted to use the equipment.

• Position speakers and lighting so they cannot easily fall or be knocked over.
• Keep drinks and liquids away from electrical accessories.
• Position smoke machines away from direct public contact.
• Keep hot equipment and vents clear of inflatable fabric.
• Secure accessory cables and prevent access to electrical connections.
• Customers must not move or interfere with installed accessories.

A final inspection is completed before the equipment is handed over to the customer.

• Confirm all anchor points and securing systems are correctly fitted.
• Check the inflatable is fully inflated and structurally stable.
• Confirm safety mats are fitted at the entrance and exit.
• Check cables and electrical connections are protected.
• Check entrances and surrounding walkways are clear.
• Confirm no visible damage or unsafe condition is present.
• Take setup photographs where appropriate for the booking record.

The responsible customer is shown the installed equipment and reminded of the main safety requirements.

• Confirm that a responsible adult aged 18 or over will supervise at all times.
• Explain that footwear, food, drink and chewing gum are not permitted inside.
• Explain that visibly intoxicated persons must not use the equipment.
• Explain that the inflatable, anchors, blower and electrical equipment must not be moved or altered.
• Explain what to do if the equipment loses power, deflates or becomes unsafe.
• Remind the customer to monitor outdoor weather conditions throughout the hire.
• Provide a contact method for reporting faults or concerns.

Unless CrazyNightclubs has specifically been booked to supervise, responsibility for day-to-day supervision transfers to the named responsible customer after handover.

• The inflatable must remain supervised whenever it is available for use.
• The customer must prevent unsafe, unauthorised or intoxicated use.
• User numbers must be kept reasonable and overcrowding prevented.
• The entrance, blower and emergency access must remain clear.
• Use must stop immediately if damage, movement, power loss or unsafe weather occurs.
• The customer must contact CrazyNightclubs if assistance is required.

Outdoor conditions must be monitored before installation and throughout the hire period.

• Outdoor equipment must not be used during unsafe or severe weather.
• Use must stop immediately if strong winds or thunderstorms develop.
• A shower cover, where fitted, is intended for suitable light rain only.
• Water must not be allowed to affect electrical equipment or connections.
• CrazyNightclubs may refuse installation or end use where conditions are unsafe.

If a fault or emergency occurs, safety takes priority over continued use of the equipment.

• Stop all activity immediately.
• Ask everyone to leave calmly and keep them away from the equipment.
• Do not allow the customer to carry out repairs or adjustments.
• Disconnect electrical equipment only when it is safe to do so.
• Contact CrazyNightclubs as soon as possible.
• Call 999 first in the event of a serious medical or fire emergency.
• Record accidents, incidents and significant near misses.

At the agreed collection time, customers and guests are kept away while the equipment is inspected, switched off and packed.

• Confirm that all users have left the inflatable.
• Remove accessories and disconnect electrical equipment safely.
• Inspect equipment for damage, contamination or missing items.
• Switch off the blower and allow controlled deflation.
• Remove stakes, anchors and ballast carefully.
• Fold and pack the inflatable using safe manual-handling methods.
• Check the area for equipment, waste and remaining trip hazards.
